What qualifications does an Ohio center director need?
An administrator must have at least a high school education plus a qualifying pathway under Appendix A of the rules, such as an early childhood education degree or credential. The lowest-bar pathway is a high school diploma with two years of experience, promoted from within, with required coursework completed within one year of taking the role.
How many training hours are required each year in Ohio?
Both staff and administrators must complete 6 clock hours of training per fiscal year. That ongoing requirement is in addition to onboarding items like first aid, CPR, communicable disease, child abuse recognition, safe sleep, and medication administration.
